It may be winter, but it won’t be long before the daylight reaches farther into the evening and warmer weather arrives. These, along with living healthier, are great reasons for kids to play outside.
Come Out to Play! will be a series of events and activities offered throughout April aimed at encouraging kids and families to take part in active play and exercise, especially outdoors. These events will be complemented by fundraising events to support the care of seriously ill children.
Last fall, the CAMC Foundation helped CAMC Women and Children’s Hospital become a founding member of Together for Kids.
Together for Kids is a national alliance of children’s hospitals and hospital systems serving children, dedicated to building a healthier future for America’s kids. As a tax-exempt public charity, Together for Kids is raising money through corporate sponsorship, events, grants and other forms of philanthropy. It’s distributing the funds to member hospitals to address the most urgent children’s health needs in their
communities
In addition to providing an urgently needed national fundraising mechanism to support the work of its member hospitals, the organization also has targeted two health issues as priorities for action: childhood obesity and accident prevention.
