  • CAMC was recently recognized nationally by Harvard Researchers as the top hospital for 21 measures of quality for pneumonia, bypass surgery, AMI & SCIP.

  • Recipient of a Bronze Performance Award from the National GWTG (Get With the Guidelines) Steering Committee of the American Heart Association for achieving at least 85% compliance in the seven core measures. 

  • Named a 2007/2008 Consumer Choice Award winner by the National Research Corporation
    for hospitals and health systems chosen as among the best by those they serve for overall quality and image.

  • Recipient of HealthGrades 2008 Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence placing CAMC in the Top Five Percent of hospitals in the nation for hospital-wide clinical excellence.

  • CAMC General Hospital named a recipient of the 2008 Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence placing it among the Top Five Percent of hospitals in the nation for clinical excellence.

  • Recipient of HealthGrades Superior Clinical Performance in Orthopedic Surgery for 2008.

  • Recipient of the HealthGrades 2008 Cardiac Care Specialty Excellence Award which places CAMC in the Top 10 Percent of hospitals nationwide for cardiac care. 

  • Named to the Community Value IndexTM (CVI) Five-Star hospitals list by Cleverly and Associates in March 2007 for financial viability and plant reinvestment, cost structure and charge structure. Measurement in these areas suggest that hospitals operating with a high degree of community value are those that are low cost, low charge, and use a strong financial position to reinvest back into the provision of care at the facility. 

  • CAMC received the second highest award of $701,000 as a top performer in the CMS/Premier Hospital Quality Incentive Demonstration for significant care quality improvements in the project’s second year. The Demonstration tracks performance on more than 30 quality indicators across five clinical conditions for 250 hospitals. 

  • CAMC Cancer Program awarded a Three Year Approval with Commendation by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer in 2006

  • Gold Well Workplace designation by the Wellness Councils of America 2006-2009

  • Named a 2006/2007 Consumer Choice Award winner by the National Research Corporation for hospitals and health systems chosen as among the best by those they serve 

  • Primary Stroke Center Gold Seal of Approval ™ from the Joint Commission for Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO) in September 2006

  • Recipient of the HealthGrades 2007 Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence placing CAMC in the top 5 percent in the nation for hospital-wide clinical excellence
