5 South Oncology

5 South is a 29-bed medical and surgical oncology unit. Using a multidisciplinary team approach, the unit places emphasis on the promotion of quality of life by administering chemotherapy and managing both symptom and palliative care. We encourage family participation in all aspects of patient care. We have registered nurses that hold a national certification in oncology, ONS chemotherapy provider cardholders and ONS certified chemo trainers. The registered nurses through case management manage a comprehensive plan of care and emphasis is placed on interdisciplinary care and collaborative practice.
