Ambulatory Infusion Center

The ambulatory infusion center provides outpatient services for patients requiring infusion therapies for acute conditions such as infection, and supportive care for chronic illnesses such as cancer, multiple sclerosis, renal failure and hemophilia among others. Treatments available include administration of IV fluids, antibiotics, blood products, chemotherapy and more.

We have registered nurses that hold national certifications in oncology, demonstrating to the people we serve that they are receiving care by staff with specialized knowledge, skills and expertise.
One of our specialties is care and maintenance of central IV catheters. We offer Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) insertion for patients needing infusion therapy lasting a week or more, either at home with a home care agency, or here in our department. For those who have had difficulty receiving IV placement in the past, we have the latest ultrasound technology to assist with placement of PICCs, preventing more costly and complicated surgical IV insertion.

Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and from 8 a.m. to noon on weekends and holidays. Appointments are available by calling (304) 388-4296. Pre-registration is helpful and may be done by calling (304) 388-9677. Registration is completed in the registration office just inside the main entrance of CAMC Memorial Hospital.

For patients’ convenience, private treatment areas are available so that loved ones may be present. Lunch is provided for anyone who is at AIC for lengthy treatments. Our goal is to provide individualized and personal care in a pleasant and comfortable environment.
