Postpartum Therapy Group 388-2545
The birth of a child is a joyous special time in the lives of many women. For some women the weeks after the birth of their child can be clouded by feelings of sadness, anxiety, disinterest in their infant and problems with sleep. The Family Resource Center is beginning a therapy group to help women dealing with Post Partum Depression. If you feel that you may be experiencing some or all of these symptoms please call the Family Resource Center to schedule an appointment for evaluation and referral to the Post Partum Therapy Group. Childbirth Preparation classes - 345-9051
Are you planning a cesarean birth or has your physician discussed labor induction? Register for our childbirth education program taught by nationally certified educators and learn about a variety of birth options. Women and Children's Hospital offers the following childbirth preparation options.

Great Expectations Class – Comprehensive childbirth preparation class that includes information on signs of pre-term labor, stages of labor, breathing techniques, comfort measures, postpartum care, hospital tour and breastfeeding. The advantage of attending a series class is the potential relationships you will build with others who are also beginning their family journey.

Birth BasicsComprehensive class focused on our population of clients who need additional case management services to compliment the Right From the Start program. This class includes signs of pre-term labor, stages of labor, breathing techniques, comfort measures, postpartum care, hospital tour and breastfeeding.

Done-in-a-Day Childbirth Class – An abbreviated class held on Saturdays that includes pre-term labor, stages of labor, pain management techniques and medical interventions. This class is designed for those who want a quick understanding of the birthing process.

Comfort Measures Class – Includes breathing techniques, comfort measures for labor as well as some massage techniques that will help any coach feel confident about supporting a laboring woman. Ideal for those interested in a refresher course or to compliment the Done-in-a-Day Childbirth Class. A certified childbirth educator and a certified massage therapist teach this class.

Childbirth on the Go Kits – (Kit for purchase $130) 
For those too busy to attend a traditional classroom setting. This kit for purchase includes a canvas bag filled with DVDs, classroom manuals and a question and answer book on pregnancy and birth. Call 388-2545 for more information.

Bed Rest Basket – ($60 deposit for two-week rental) 
When items are returned, you will be charged $40. These baskets are personalized for specific needs. Baskets include DVDs, manuals and a variety of handouts. Call 388-2545 for more information.

Learn simple parenting strategies for raising great kids in complicated times and parenting solutions that prepare kids for the real world. Get respect and responsibility from your kids, handle misbehavior, stay calm and avoid arguments, get your kids to listen the first time and avoid power struggles over chores.

Join us for this six-week therapy group, led by Janet Walters, MA. Group is based on Becoming a Love and Logic Parent program. Group offered for parents of children 14 years and younger.
