Women and Children's Hospital
This unit cares for new mothers and their babies along with high-risk antepartum patients from Kanawha, Putnam and several of the surrounding counties. We use a family-centered approach to facilitate teaching/learning for the parents, siblings and primary care givers. There is a certified lactation consultant available to provide one-on-one attention to those having breastfeeding problems. The lactation consultant will also see those mothers after discharge that need additional reassurance and assistance. This is done by appointment only at (304) 388-2180. The unit is located behind a set of locked doors on the second floor of Women and Children’s Hospital. A security guard is on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week to assure your baby is safe. Every baby is assigned a personal tracking tag that is controlled centrally on the unit. The unit is designed to allow you the rest and recuperation time needed in a friendly environment. If you have any questions about this unit, call (304) 388-2181. Free paternity notaries are available if needed. |
