A cancer diagnosis is a terrible event for patients and families. We believe that caring for people in this difficult time is about much more than drugs and technology. The new center will house a patient resource library, a family counseling provider, a café, wig shop and a healing garden for relaxation, meditation and the opportunity to talk about important family decisions. Support during cancer treatment for patients and their families must create an environment focused on the whole person, and not just on their disease. Patients will be welcomed into a facility that is open and light; where the patient flow is natural and appropriate to the space and the process; where simply getting from the parking lot to the treatment center is a direct and simplified process.
