Three years ago, CAMC's website was completely rebuilt. Hundreds of thousands of pages were rewritten and new functionalities were added based on the input from focus groups.

The new makes it easier to find information about services provided by CAMC and its CAMC Health System affiliates, health conditions and physicians who treat patients here. It has been redesigned to be more user-friendly, and is considered a "smart site," which means that the site searches itself to collect the most important information related to the topics that are being browsed.

One way the website connects CAMC to its patients is through its mapping applications.

Before patients or visitors leave their homes, they can begin to learn about CAMC's hospitals and units.

Each service has a page explaining what is offered, which physicians specialize in the service and other related resources. Each nursing unit has a page describing the unit and the skills of the staff that practice there.

By clicking on the directions link at the top of the website or on each of the service and department pages, patients and visitors can map their way to any CAMC facility for their doctor's appointments and procedures.

Visitors also can find links that direct drivers to the closest parking area and maps that direct users to the places they need to go on each campus. Printable maps are available to guide patients and visitors to the nursing units and procedural areas inside the hospital.

If they don't know the specific unit or practice name, users can start with the "Patient" or "Visitor" links in the lower right section of the home page.

Coming soon: a symptom checker, health news and information about a variety of health conditions, and a mobile site.
