The CAMC Foundation Employee Fund, which provides assistance to employees of CAMC Health System companies who face a critical need, has distributed nearly $500,000 and helped 850 employees since it began in June 2001.
The fund provides assistance to employees who have personal financial emergencies.
Examples of financial emergencies that qualify for funding include funeral expenses or travel; replacement of essential personal items lost to theft, flood, fire or other disaster; illness, emergency housing or relocation to escape dangerous living conditions.
The fund receives support through employee contributions to the CAMC Foundation that are restricted to the fund. Grants will continue to be awarded as long as contributions are made.
Donations can be made by payroll deduction, single donation or PTO contribution.
"The CAMC Employee Fund provides an important opportunity for our employees to come together to help each other in times of need. It is truly a way that shows employees helping employees and sustaining the feeling of 'family' at CAMC," said Gail Pitchford, president, CAMC Foundation.
Full- and part-time employees are eligible to apply after 12 consecutive months of employment. Applications are available at the human resources departments at each hospital.
