John T. Deel, MD, grew up in Pinch, WV, and always planned on working in West Virginia. He went to Herbert Hoover High School and attended West Liberty State in Wheeling. “My goal from the beginning has always been to provide high quality care to our community,” Dr. Deel said.
Dr. Deel received his medical degree from Marshall University School of Medicine. He completed a fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center, a cardiothoracic surgery residency at the University of Texas at San Antonio University Health System and ALMVA Hospitals, and a general surgery residency at the WVU Department of Surgery. Dr. Deel is certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
“Personally, I am what most consider the typical Mountaneer,” Dr. Deel said. “Free time finds me hunting, fishing, hiking and spending time with my three boys. I would not consider myself a true mountaineer without the motorcycles and four-wheelers.”
Nathaniel Kister, MD, received his medical degree from the West Virginia University School of Medicine in Morgantown, WV. He completed his general surgery residency at West Virginia University – Charleston Division before going to Lexington, KY, where he completed his cardiothoracic surgery fellowship.
Dr. Kister treats lung and esophageal cancer, hiatal hernias, coronary artery disease, valvular disease and atrial fibrillation, among other cardiothoracic conditions.
