Reinstatement Policy For Previous CAMC Employees

Charleston Area Medical Center is pleased to introduce its revised reinstatement policy for previous employees.  Effective June 1, 2001, former regular-status CAMC employees who are offered, accept and begin a regular-status position, within two years of their most recent separation date, will qualify for reinstatement of:
  • their last CAMC date of hire, for the purpose of determining seniority,
  • their rate of paid-time-off (PTO) accrual, and
  • their previous level of retirement-plan matching contribution by CAMC, if enrolled in the plan at the time of prior separation.

This revised reinstatement policy applies to clinical and non-clinical personnel.  It does not extend to individuals whose most recent CAMC employment was in a temporary capacity; however, former employees whose most recent period of employment was in a per diem status can be reinstated as long as they have worked in a regular status within the last two years.  This policy will not be applied retroactively prior to the effective date specified above.
