Basic Electrophysiology Study

Temporary pacemaker catheters are inserted into different areas of the heart to examine and record the electrical activity.  This study enables doctors to diagnose irregular heart rhythms.  The study can determine the origin of the arrhythmia, how well medications are working and the need to have a pacemaker implanted.
