Players overcome challenges to raise money for program
Physically challenged athletes played a game they love in a friendly environment on a great golf course at the Sugarwood Golf Club.
Contributions and sponsorships from the 4th Annual Challenged Cup and Golf Scramble organized by the CAMC Challenged Sports program raised more than $10,000. These funds allow more than 80 physically challenged athletes the opportunity to participate in educational classes, skill clinics, practice sessions, sport leagues and nationally sanctioned competitions throughout West Virginia.
The mission of CAMC’s Challenged Sports program is not only to use sports as therapeutic intervention, but also promote a life-long investment in its athlete’s health and well-being. The program hopes to achieve this by giving physically challenged individuals opportunities to pursue the sport of their interest to their greatest potential.
