The CAMC Women and Children’s Hospital Fetal Diagnosis and Treatment Group (FDTG) involves a multidisciplinary team of specialists who offer highly-specialized care to mothers carrying babies with known birth defects that require fetal surgery and/or treatment before or after birth. The team coordinates all treatment, offering caring counseling and comprehensive support services. It works closely with a patient’s physician to coordinate care and also educates other physicians about fetal conditions, fetal diagnosis and fetal surgeries and treatments.
Our services include fetal ultrasound, fetal cardiac ultrasound and our hospital is the only place in West Virginia that offers fetal MRI. The FDTG coordinates same-day subspecialist consults for patients to minimize inconvenience. Women and Children’s offers private rooms, the highest-level neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) with an in-house neonatologist available around the clock and pediatric surgical coverage 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
