Pelvic floor muscle exercises strengthen the muscles around the bladder that are weak, which can cause urine leakage.
Pelvic floor muscles can be identified by noticing the muscles used to start and stop your urinary stream.
To exercise your pelvic floor, squeeze (contract) these muscles for four counts and relax for four counts. Do this for five minutes, two times a day.
When you relax, don’t push down, just let the muscles go loose. Don’t hold your breath during the exercises as it can put extra pressure on the muscles.
