The Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) is an area designated to provide care for patients recovering from anesthesia, whether it be general, regional or local anesthesia. These patients will receive short-term intensive care. By providing this care, we assess respiratory status, cardiovascular status, neurological/wound/fluid balance, renal function, comfort level, pain management and emotional status.
