Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is the pharmacy only for urgent care patients or can anyone get prescriptions filled there?
A: The pharmacy at the CAMC Urgent Care Center in Cross Lanes is open to the public just like any other retail pharmacy. Although it is a convenient option for urgent care patients to get their prescriptions filled on-site immediately after their visit, anyone can get prescriptions filled during regular business hours.
Q: Do you carry the same prescription antibiotics and medications as other retail pharmacies?
A: Yes. However, depending on demand and the type of medication needed, just as with any other retail pharmacy we may need to order medications if we do not have them in stock. Feel free to call and check that we have the prescription you need.
Q: How do I get my prescription filled?
A: If you see a physician at the CAMC Urgent Care Center in Cross Lanes and would like to fill your prescription with us, the physician will automatically send us your prescription so we can fill it as you finish your visit to minimize your wait. We accept cash, credit or debit card payments. If you do not see an urgent care physician, simply present your prescription at the Drop-Off area of the pharmacy counter. We will process your information and fill your prescription quickly.
Q: Can my doctor call in a prescription or send it online?
A: Yes, your doctor can call, fax, or electronically submit your prescription. You will need to call us to give us your information (e.g., name, address, etc.) and let us know to fill the prescription. Phone: (304) 388-7050; Fax (304) 388-7055.
Q: Will you offer the generic equivalent for most prescriptions?
A: Yes, West Virginia state law requires us to fill your prescription with a generic equivalent if one is available unless you or your doctor specify otherwise.
Q: Will the pharmacy sell over-the-counter items like other retail pharmacies (such as aspirin, vitamins, etc.)?
A: Yes, we have a limited selection of over-the-counter items.
