CAMC Nurse (RN) Residency Program is accredited with distinction as a Practice Transition Program by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
ANCC accreditation is a voluntary review process intended to strengthen and sustain the quality and integrity of practice transition programs. CAMC chose to apply for ANCC accredited status and agrees to abide by global standards established by ANCC.
"This means the ANCC deemed CAMC's nurse residency program as the highest quality and worthy of public confidence," said Cindy Spahr, nurse resident coordinator. "This honor reaffirms the dedicated work and commitment of our entire team to the core values of our organization."
Accreditation with distinction means CAMC takes continuous improvement seriously and is committed to quality practice transition education for nurses.
CAMC is one of two organizations in West Virginia that have achieved this status.
"ANCC standards provide a powerful, global benchmark for us to continually self-assess and identify ways to strengthen our practice transition program," Spahr said.
