Carrie Morris, nurse manager for the surgical ICU at Memorial Hospital, recently stepped in to assist in leadership on other units when needed.
Morris takes the interim manager position seriously and does more than the minimum for the staff in all units. This includes excellent communication to ensure clear expectations and accountability.
She has built strong teams in SICU to reach outstanding quality outcomes including zero CLABSIs and zero CAUTIs all while maintaining productivity above 102 percent and retaining full time staff with zero travelers. Morris has been instrumental in the system education for CLABSI and CAUTI teams as well as many other system level initiatives.
