Cedric Williams, nursing assistant in the surgery department at General Hospital, and Tavares Hamilton, nursing assistant in the clinical resource department, were recognized at the November board of trustees meeting.
Williams and Hamilton received a call that a patient fell in the bathroom of MRI, a neighboring department. This event did not take place in their unit, but they were ready and willing to take care of a patient in need.
They immediately assisted the patient onto a stretcher and helped clean her. They went out of their way to help this patient who was in a particularly vulnerable situation and took special care to maintain the patient's dignity and privacy.
