The CAMC Urgent Care Center has achieved national accreditation through the Urgent Care Association (UCA), which is the highest level of distinction for urgent care centers.
The CAMC Urgent Care Center provides patients with walk-in, extended-hour medical attention with highly trained, licensed providers and has met all of the UCA's established standards and criteria for quality of patient care, safety and scope of services.
"Urgent care centers are not required to pursue this accreditation, but we decided to do so because we wanted to ensure that our center offers the best care possible," said Mark Stephens, MD, medical director of the CAMC Urgent Care Center. "With this accreditation, we demonstrate our commitment to providing our community and patients with access to quality care of the highest level."
Urgent care fills the gap between primary care and hospital emergency rooms, offering increased convenience and cost savings. When a medical condition cannot be handled by a patient's regular doctor, such as unexpected cuts, sprains or fractures that do not require a visit to the emergency department, the CAMC Urgent Care Center treats a wide range of medical issues and provides diagnostic services, including X-rays, lab work, ultrasound and CT scans. In addition, anyone with a doctor's order for lab work, X-ray, ultrasound or CT can schedule these tests at the CAMC Urgent Care Center at their convenience.
The Urgent Care Center in Cross Lanes is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. No appointments are necessary, and most insurance plans are accepted. For more information, visit camc.org/UrgentCare or call (304) 388-7070.
