Rev. Jonathon Moyers is the new chaplain at CAMC General Hospital. A native of western Illinois, Moyers most recently served as the pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church in Dayton, OH. During his time as parish pastor and redeveloper, Moyers began a free community meal program which has served more than 7,000 meals. He also created a free clothing room, a hygiene pantry for homeless persons and a reading room where children could receive free books to fight the summer reading slump.
Moyers studied at Culver-Stockton College in northeast Missouri, where he majored in music, with an emphasis in French horn and music education. He then attended Lexington Theological Seminary, completed a chaplain internship at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington and a year-long chaplain residency at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, before graduating from seminary in 2012.
