CAMC is taking a proactive approach to the care of our veteran patient population by offering a new continuing education course online for health care professionals.
For Heroes Proved highlights the issues most common to our veteran patients and equips the health care team with tools to serve veterans with compassion and expertise.
The goal of this education is to provide information relevant to physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, psychologists, pharmacists, counselors, case managers and social workers to empower them to feel confident in collaborating with the patient and the health care team to provide optimal interventions for veterans seeking care.
The unique needs of a veteran who seeks health care can only be met through a collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach that ensures access to care, a comprehensive assessment, an effective treatment plan and transitions of care that connect the patient with the appropriate resources.
Multidisciplinary health care teams are obligated to stay educated and current in their knowledge of conditions impacting the veteran patient as well as resources to treat them effectively.
Visit camcinstitute.org/veterans to access the course directly. This course, provided by CAMC Institute, is free to CAMC employees.
This online education offers two hours of continuing education credits and fulfills SB 437 and Chapter 30-1-7a licensing requirements for registered nurses to complete two contact hours for annual CE for mental health conditions common to veterans and their families.
