The imaging department at CAMC Women and Children's Hospital created a hand print station to engage patients and families in raising awareness for childhood cancer.
Employees set it up at the beginning of September, Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and encouraged patients and families to join in its awareness initiative upon entering or exiting for exams by putting a hand print on the blank Fight Like a Kid canvas.
The hand print station featured washable, hand stamp pads set up at the radiology front desk.
Staff handed out gold awareness bracelets and offered a gold sugar cookie and lemonade.
The imaging team also participated in the Walk for Hope. It raised more than $1,000 to raise awareness for pediatric cancer and the children being treated in our community.
