Danielle Washington is a new employee, working as an admitting clerk at CAMC Memorial Hospital's emergency room. The person who nominated her said she was there on a typically busy day. She noted that everyone in the waiting area was tired and frustrated while waiting to be seen. That's when she noticed Washington walking around the waiting area with a large stack of warm blankets. Washington not only offered everyone warm blankets, but also took time to help cover them with blankets. Immediately the environment changed from a stressful and uncomfortable ER to a somewhat calming and understanding environment. Washington, with her simple kindness of offering a warm blanket and a smile, changed the faces and attitudes of those waiting to be seen.
