On Aug. 5, 2013, after a two year battle, Kathy King succumbed to gall-bladder cancer. Her life ended just as she lived it–to its fullest, never giving up and being the example of a person who gave her all in everything she did.
That was evident in her work as a CRNA, the tennis she so loved, her family life, the medical mission trips she made and especially her faith.
The Circle of Friends Memorial Doubles Tennis Tournament held at the Charleston Tennis Club, was organized to honor Kathy’s memory and the Kathy Hensley King Memorial Fund to be established at the CAMC Foundation.
The fund will support CAMC School of Nurse Anesthesia students with financial needs to help cover expenses related to their board review courses and/or academic testing exam.
The tournament was well attended with 140 participants and it raised $12,500 that will be dedicated to support the CAMC School of Nurse Anesthesia. Special thanks to all the participants and those who supported.
