The CAMC Health Education and Research Institute has been awarded $135,188 by the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR), Bureau for Behavioral Health from the State Opioid Response (SOR) grant. Federal SOR grant funding comes from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
The grant will be used to provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) services and peer recovery support services to individuals with opioid use disorder.
Medication-assisted treatment services are person-centered. CAMC is collaborating with Thomas Health System and DHHR's Bureau for Behavioral Health to ensure that individuals with opioid use disorder can easily access quality, evidence-based intervention and treatment services.
CAMC recognizes that collaboration between service providers and other organizations delivering opioid use disorder treatment services and early intervention and peer recovery support services is vital in meeting individual client needs.
