Surgeons perform a variety of procedures to diagnose or treat an injury or illness. The surgery ranges from outpatient or same-day surgery that can be minimally invasive to complex procedures that require admission to the hospital.

The hospital has four operating rooms and two endoscopy suites. Surgeons practicing at Teays Valley Hospital perform various endoscopic, gastro-intestinal, general, laparoscopic, oral/maxillofacial, orthopedic, urologic, ophthalmology and vascular procedures.

Short stay surgery provides day-of-procedure admission and day-of-procedure discharge for patients scheduled for elective surgical, non-invasive, diagnostic and invasive vascular procedures. During the stay in Short Stay Surgery, the patient may have testing by radiology and lab, a history and physical assessment, pre-operative and post-operative patient education, and discharge instructions.
