April 30, 2013: At approximately 5 a.m. this morning, a water pipe burst at Memorial Hospital in the ceiling above 3 South. No patients or employees were directly affected. All patient care areas are open and functioning. 13 patients on 3 South have been moved to accomodate clean-up and most will be moved back to their rooms shortly. The other areas affected were: Open Heart family waiting room, pre-admission testing, Nuclear Medicine, and some physical therapy areas in the basement. Parts of Nuclear Medicine and the Open Heart waiting room remain closed for clean-up. The other areas are open with only certain rooms or sections being affected by the clean-up.
