CAMC provides comprehensive care in tune with patients’ medical, practical and emotional needs. Our multidisciplinary team includes radiation oncologists, gynecologic oncologists, pediatric oncologists, medical oncologists, a surgical oncologist, oncology pharmacists, oncology case coordinators, oncology social workers and skilled oncology registered nurses. Our services also include a comprehensive cancer support team for families.
CAMC cancer services have been accredited by the American College of Surgeon’s (ACoS) Commission on Cancer (CoC) for more than 60 years and offer the most, highest trained, nationally certified health care professionals in the region. We have dedicated inpatient and outpatient areas and offer a collaborative approach to medicine. Our physicians follow the National Comprehensive Cancer Network guidelines and treat patients of all ages. Like all CoC-accredited facilities, CAMC maintains a cancer registry and contributes data to the National Cancer Data Base (NCDB), a joint program of the CoC and American Cancer Society (ACS). This nationwide oncology outcomes database is the largest clinical disease registry in the world. Data on all types of cancer are tracked and analyzed through the NCDB and used to explore trends in cancer care. When cancer patients choose to seek care locally at CAMC, a CoC-accredited cancer center, they are gaining access to comprehensive, state-of-the-art cancer care close to home.
