CAMC is responding to the challenges of our growing cancer population by building a new, state-of-the-art cancer center where patients will receive comprehensive care in one convenient location.
The three-story, 110,000-square-foot facility currently under construction on the old Watt Powell Park property across from CAMC Memorial Hospital will open in spring 2015. Many cancer and cancer-related services will be served by the new center including: radiation oncology, medical oncology, oncological surgery, clinical trials and an infusion center. The Breast Center will also move from Women and Children’s Hospital to the CAMC Cancer Center.
The center will feature dozens of exam and ambulatory infusion rooms, café, boutique and other services for treating patients and supporting families.
The $50 million project was funded dually by the CAMC Foundation’s The Power of Many fundraising campaign, which raised $15 million for the project, and a 30-year note to finance the remaining $38 million.
