Hospitalists at CAMC help ensure that patients get the best health care every day. Our team of hospitalists provides complementary care in support of your surgeon, specialist or admitting physician while you are a patient in our hospitals.

While other doctors often see patients in an office or clinic, hospitalists only care for patients who are admitted to the hospital, and they coordinate all aspects of your care while you are there including consulting with specialists, monitoring your progress, and staying in close contact with you, your family and your primary care provider. When you leave the hospital, your primary care provider resumes responsibility for your care.

Hospitalists are trained across a broad range of skills. Most are board-certified in internal medicine or family practice, while others may have subspecialties such as emergency medicine, pulmonology or pediatrics. Their training, combined with their focus on inpatient care, ensures that you are receiving the highest quality care that is focused on your needs.
