Dianna Mills is an environmental services tech 2 at Women and Children’s Hospital.
The person who nominated Mills said she recently demonstrated that the little things can be the most touching moments we experience in health care.
Mills gave the “Hello Bows,” which are made of wash cloths and left in rooms for new patients, an upgrade by folding them into the shape of a heart.
When a pediatric patient arrived in his room and noticed the heart-shaped towels, he pointed to it and said to his mom “Look, someone loves me."
During his stay, the young patient kept the heart in front of him because he liked the feeling of being loved and proudly showed it to each visitor who came to his room.
Mills’ small gesture meant so much to this patient.
