Rob Scott is the Director of Environmental Services at General Hospital.
With his leadership, General Hospital has seen an improvement in the HCAHP cleanliness scores and a decrease in the turnover rate in the housekeeping department.
Scott is always present, continuously rounding and does everything he can to make sure any need is addressed promptly.
He initiated the “Be Nice” program within EVS emphasizing employees and leadership to make the effort to simply be nice while delivering service to patients, customers, clients and visitors.
He constantly recognizes employees for their extra efforts in the job.
Scott also leads by example. During the snow and ice storm in January, He came in on Sunday afternoon to set up rooms for staff to sleep and stay if needed. He slept a couple nights in his office as he helped cover staffing shortages to turn over beds quickly, promote patient placement and ensure safety by keeping the floors clean and dry.
Scott also has created a culture of empathy and understanding for each employee’s professional and personal needs, including their lives outside of work. He began collaborative efforts with other service departments to enhance the level of patient care.
