5 South, Memorial Hospital, recently cared for a young patient who was far from home.
The patient had a grave diagnosis and was not a candidate for definitive treatment, which unfortunately indicated a poor prognosis.
While hospitalized, the patient celebrated his birthday, and the care team went above and beyond by organizing a celebration in his native language, complete with a cake and party favors.
As the patient prepared to return home to spend his remaining time with his family, the care team also donated resources to assist the patient on his final journey home.
Healing means more than curing and the actions taken show this team’s true passion for patient-centered care.
Healing goes beyond curing, and the actions taken by this team reflect a deep commitment to patient-centered care.
