LeAnne Call is an Associate Administrator for Ambulatory Services.
Five years ago, Call began working with Putnam County Technical School, Ben Franklin Career Center, to boost student enrollment of the medical assistant programs.
Call and others developed a plan to offer our employees opportunities for professional growth. This initiative has been highly successful, with each semester seeing a new group of employees participating.
In the fall of 2024, CAMC introduced a medical assistant extern position to better align with our competitors and support the continued growth of the program. Recently, Call has placed about 23 students across CAMC’s ambulatory departments. This has allowed us to fill vacancies quickly and maintain minimal openings at any given time.
Putnam County Technical School has started enrollment for the next semester, with spots for 27 students plus our CAMC employees. They have already received 78 enrollments, which is a direct result of offering the extern position and further employment opportunities with CAMC.
Additionally, WVU Parkersburg has reached out to CAMC, and we now have students to send to our clinics in the Mid-Ohio Valley region, with plans to expand to other roles as well.
Call’s willingness to support this program and the opportunities it provides for our employees has truly made a difference for everyone involved.
