A family had an unexpected hospitalization while traveling through Charleston.
A man exhibited signs of a stroke early one morning and EMT's told the family CAMC would be the best place for him to be treated.
Within a short time of arriving at the emergency room, the man underwent a CT scan, which showed signs of a TIA. However, due to the quick acting of all involved, the man was able to recover and went on to see his family.
His spouse praised staff for putting their fears to rest and taking time to listen to concerns and answer all questions.
The family said the ER doctors calmed their fears and made them feel welcome. They also noted that nurses and other support staff were kind, compassionate and understanding.
They also expressed appreciation for Anthony Conliffe, Security, who escorted them back to their car and directed them to parking.
Thank you to everyone who showed their heart and soul in the care of this patient and his family.
