Sanger recently received a message from the answering service regarding a medication refill request. While researching the patient, he realized the individual was not a patient who was established with the office.
Rather than dismissing the request, Sanger took the initiative to call the patient to clarify the situation and identify the correct provider.
Recognizing the urgency of the medication that was needed and the patient’s confusion, Sanger also located the correct phone number and contacted the provider’s office on the patient’s behalf. The office confirmed they would send the prescription refill directly to the patient’s pharmacy.
The patient was extremely grateful for Sanger’s assistance and follow-through.
