The Pharmacy at the CAMC Cancer Center is dedicated to serving the community and patients receiving services at the CAMC Cancer Center. You do not have to be a patient at CAMC or the Cancer Center to use our pharmacy – we fill most routine prescriptions and can answer questions about your medications like any retail pharmacy. Our goal is to provide comprehensive pharmacy services to help you stay as healthy as possible.
Our state-of-the-art pharmacy is where we manage the mixing of chemotherapy and other sterile preparations. It is designed to cut down on infections transmitted through drug preparation and to better protect staff mixing the drugs.
The CAMC Pharmacy is one of the largest in the state. We are also the only Cancer Center in West Virginia that is staffed by two board certified oncology pharmacists and five nationally certified technicians. This group works together to provide treatments to more than 50 patients daily.
Our pharmacy staff monitors patients throughout their care, whether the patient is inpatient, outpatient or at home. Pharmacy staff also is available for counseling and patient education.
Consultation and assistance
We work with all patients to provide the best, most convenient service possible, including overnight or next day mailing of prescriptions to patient homes and pursuing financial assistance options.
