Who can apply?
- High school students ages 16 (by June 1) and up
- College students who are enrolled in a college or university
Requirements:
Applicants must be available for all required dates throughout the application and service periods. We allow a two-week maximum attendance exception throughout the service period. Anyone missing a required deadline or appointment or having excessive absences will immediately be disqualified.
- A minimum of one, four-hour shift weekly
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Health screen at CAMC General Hospital’s Employee Health Department
- Two letters of recommendation from a mentor, teacher, pastor, etc. (under 18) or completed background check (18 or older)
All applicants are required to return a completed portfolio to CAMC's Volunteer Service Department at 501 Morris St., Charleston, WV 25301, by April 1, 2026.
For questions, please call the Volunteer Services office at 304-388-7426. Volunteer Services staff will not speak to parents/guardians about their student's service, but only directly with the student.

- Two letters of recommendation (high school students only)
- Copy of current transcript of grades with a minimum GPA of 3.0
- Signed volunteer agreement form
- Signed parent consent form (high school students only)
- Signed photo release form
- Signed confidentiality and security agreement form
- Virtual interviews will be scheduled individually through Microsoft Teams once the applications and portfolios are received
- Applicants are expected to be prompt and have the camera on for the entire interview
Application period is Jan.1, 2026 – March 15, 2026
- Portfolio is due no later than April 1, 2026
- Employee health visits must be completed by May 15, 2026
- Orientation is held on June 1, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. - noon
- Service dates are June 1, 2026 - July 31, 2026
