Interventional cardiology is a subsection of cardiologic care that involves additional training to use catheter-based diagnostic and therapeutic options to repair damaged or weakened vessels. Interventional procedures are a non-surgical option that involve running a catheter through the arteries (usually from the groin) up to the heart, without the need to crack open the chest. This allows for quicker recovery time and less pain for our patients.
