Charleston Area Medical Center and West Virginia Junior College (WVJC) have joined together to establish the WVJC School of Nursing at CAMC. This partnership between two of West Virginia’s most respected organizations will increase and improve access to nursing education.

Through this program, CAMC will further its mission of striving to provide the best health care to patients every day.

WVJC has three residential campuses in West Virginia, located in Charleston, Bridgeport, and Morgantown. The curriculum is career-focused in nursing, allied health, business and technology. Many programs are available online or as hybrid programs to help students balance family, work and college.

Direct admission CAMC tuition assistance
The WVJC School of Nursing at CAMC applies a direct admission policy, so incoming students begin the nursing program immediately. Once accepted, you’re guaranteed a seat in the nursing training program and will not need to complete years of pre-nursing general classes.

CAMC offers tuition assistance to eligible WVJC School of Nursing at CAMC students who have been accepted into the program. The tuition assistance allows students to pursue their desire to attend nursing school.  It also allows students to acclimate to the CAMC culture and build relationships with potential future colleagues.

The WVJC School of Nursing at CAMC offers its didactic classes online, allowing students some flexibility within work schedules and school schedules. Lab requirements and clinical rotations may occur at a CAMC medical facility or a mobile nursing lab.

Graduates will be conferred an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) and be eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).*

*Passing the NCLEX-RN exam is required to become a registered nurse.
